DUMBO Engagement Shoot: Maria & Kevin

Maria, Kevin, and I braved the crowds this past Saturday (the first real Spring Saturday in NYC this year), and made our way to the land of bridges, water, views, and photo opps - DUMBO. Between the iconic bridges and views that capture NYC in all its downtown glory its no wonder it is such a popular place to both visit and have your picture taken. Many times I prefer to go off the beaten track for photo sessions but for this shoot I was reminded of how much of an experience it is to do a session in such a highly populated area. As a photographer I am always looking for new ways to see the ordinary (light, angles, etc), while at the same time I love a classic photo with strong basic elements. DUMBO marries the two: plenty of super popular views and backdrops combined with the interesting ways the light plays against the architecture, water, and bridges. It was a thrill to photograph Maria & Kevin at this NYC destination!
